Frequently asked questions
Where is your clinic located?
Three Roots Chiropractic operates from a professional, home-based setting in a quiet residential neighborhood (Colwood, BC, on Vancouver Island).
Do you offer direct billing to insurance providers?
No, I do not offer direct billing at this time. However, you will receive a detailed receipt after each appointment, which you can submit to your extended health insurance provider for reimbursement.
Do you accept ICBC or WorkSafeBC claims?
No, I do not accept claims through ICBC or WorkSafeBC. All appointments must be paid privately at the time of service.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit includes a detailed health history and physical exam to understand your unique needs. We’ll create a personalized plan and often begin care right away, combining manual full-spine decompression, soft-tissue therapy, and stability training as appropriate.
What is manual full-spine decompression?
Manual full-spine decompression is a powerful hands-on technique that creates space along the vertical axis of your spine (head-to-tail). It can help relieve pressure on compressed nerves, discs, and joints—throughout the entire spine—offering relief from compression pain and tension.
What types of treatment do you offer?
Based on your condition and goals, treatment may include:
Manual full-spine decompression
Traditional, diversified chiropractic adjustments
Soft tissue therapy
Stability and mobility training
Postural and lifestyle advice
Each treatment plan is customized to your needs.
Do I need a referral from a medical doctor?
No referral is necessary. Chiropractors are primary healthcare providers in British Columbia, and you can book an appointment directly.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic care is safe and effective for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions when performed by a trained and licensed practitioner. All care at Three Roots Chiropractic is tailored to your comfort, health status, and preferences.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. If needed, gowns or shorts can be provided during the appointment.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online through Jane App or by contacting us directly.
Why is a credit card required to book an appointment?
A valid credit card is required to secure your appointment time. As a solo practitioner in a home-based clinic, no-shows and late cancellations significantly impact my ability to serve others.
The card you provide will not be charged unless:
You choose to pay for your completed appointment using that card
You miss your appointment or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice
This policy helps ensure fairness and respect for both my time and other patients waiting for care. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Three Roots Policies
1. Missed or Late Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I require at least 24 hours’ notice.
Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged 50% of the appointment fee for the first occurrence.
Any subsequent late cancellations or no-shows will be charged 100% of the appointment fee.
If you contact me within the 24-hour window, I can often fill your spot with another patient—in those cases, the fee may be waived at my discretion.
2. Rehab Area Use Policy
Patients are welcome to use the rehab area immediately following their treatment time; however, it is unsupervised and intended for independent use only.
Patients must use the equipment responsibly and within their personal limits.
Three Roots Chiropractic and Dr. Daniel Collins are not liable for injuries sustained during unsupervised use of the rehab area.
By using this space, patients acknowledge they are responsible for their own safety.
3. Payment Policy
Payment is due in full at the end of each visit, unless prior arrangements have been made.
Accepted forms of payment include debit, credit, and cash.
Patients are responsible for the full appointment fee at the end of each appointment.
Outstanding balances must be paid before future appointments can be scheduled.
